Little Programmers Grow Up

Little Programmers Grow Up I’m Fabrizio Bitti, CEO of bit Time Software, but today I’m not speaking to you as an entrepreneur. I’m speaking to you as a father. Father of Alessandro, ten years old, passionate about technology and already determined to understand “how things work.” Not just to use them. A desire that, as a programmer, I can only encourage. For a few months now, Alessandro has been taking an online Python course on Kodland. One lesson a week with a live teacher, plus a well-designed platform that guides him step-by-step along a solid path. I’ve observed him since the first lesson: he always logs in early, adjusts his headphones, opens his notebook. He’s curious, attentive, and most importantly, happy. And for a parent, that’s everything. It’s not just about code. It’s the context that makes the difference. Alongside him are kids his age with whom he shares a passion for programming. A close-knit small group, guided by a real teacher with whom he has built a relationship of trust. There are no animations or special effects, but a clear and concrete progression. One step at a time, as every language should be learned, not just computer languages. Yesterday, for example, Alessandro was explaining to me what dictionaries are and how key-value associations work. For me, who has lived the world of software from the inside for over twenty years, seeing my son write his first lines of code is an emotional experience. Not because I dream of a future as an engineer for him (he’ll decide that), but because I know that, whatever path he chooses, the ability to think logically and creatively together will be decisive. The world awaiting him will certainly be steeped in technology, automation, and artificial intelligence. But I firmly believe that the creativity of a passionate programmer – a human being capable of inventing, adapting, and imagining – will never be replaceable. Online platforms like Kodland are one of the best ways I’ve seen to cultivate this kind of talent. Without forcing it. Without illusions. But with real tools. Today, I can calmly say that I am happy. Happy as a parent. And happy as a programmer, father of a young programmer. Fabrizio BittiCEO, bit Time Software

AI CodeCamp 2025: Embarcadero revolutionizes development

AI CodeCamp 2025: Embarcadero revolutionizes development AI CodeCamp 2025 by Embarcadero showcased how artificial intelligence is concretely transforming application development with Delphi and C++Builder. The online event, held from June 16 to 20, 2025, introduced CodeBot for Delphi, the new AI copilot set to revolutionize developer productivity. With over 23 intensive sessions and the participation of international experts, the event outlined the roadmap for AI integration into the RAD Studio ecosystem, offering practical, ready-to-use tools to automate coding and enhance the development experience. Held entirely online and freely accessible, AI CodeCamp engaged thousands of developers from the global Embarcadero community, reaffirming the company’s leadership in tech innovation after 30 years of Delphi. The event marked a turning point for those working with Embarcadero technologies, showing how AI can be integrated without disrupting established workflows while dramatically enhancing creative capabilities and development speed. An event that made a difference for the community AI CodeCamp 2025 stood out for its pragmatic and concrete approach to artificial intelligence. Hosted by Developer Advocate Ian Barker, the event took a balanced philosophy—avoiding both hype and underestimation of AI’s potential. As the organizers stated: “We are neither overestimating nor underestimating AI, but giving it the attention it deserves in the context of what it means for you developers.” The event was structured to maximize practical learning: 5 consecutive days with back-to-back sessions covering every aspect of AI integration. Day one featured five intensive sessions focused on artificial neural networks in C++Builder, while days two and three expanded the focus with six sessions each dedicated to AI in Delphi. A highlight was the session by Dr. Yilmaz Yoru, an expert with over 35 years of programming experience and an AI specialist active long before the arrival of ChatGPT. His presentation “Understanding AI Neurons and Activation Functions with C++Builder” demonstrated how to implement artificial neurons and neural networks directly in C++Builder, providing practical ANN programming examples for engineering applications. CodeBot for Delphi: the announced game-changer The climax of the event was the announcement of CodeBot for Delphi by David Millington on the fifth day. This new AI copilot is the first intelligent programming assistant designed specifically for the Delphi ecosystem, built to seamlessly integrate with RAD Studio. CodeBot promises to revolutionize the development workflow with features such as natural language-based code generation, intelligent performance optimization, and AI-assisted debugging. In a live demo, Millington showed how CodeBot can interpret natural language requests and turn them into working Delphi code, significantly cutting down development time for repetitive tasks. Its integration with Smart CodeInsight, already available in RAD Studio 12.2+, allows developers to interact with various LLM engines—both online and offline—directly within the IDE. The system supports general-use chat windows and specific editor commands for selected code, creating a truly AI-enhanced development environment. Practical integrations that make a difference AI CodeCamp 2025 shone with its focus on concrete, immediately usable applications. Experts demonstrated integrations with leading services such as Google Gemini AI via the FB4D library, allowing Delphi developers to implement text generation and image interpretation in their applications. Particularly impressive was the demo of the AWS SDK for Delphi by Richard Hatherall of Appercept, who showed how to integrate Amazon Rekognition for object analysis and recognition. The example of the “Not a Hot Dog” app illustrated how simple it is to implement advanced machine learning in Delphi apps, opening doors to personalized e-commerce, recommendation systems, and computer vision applications. Sessions also covered AI applications for customer support with intelligent chatbots, document processing with automatic text and image handling, and predictive analytics for business decisions. Every demo was accompanied by full source code and instantly applicable best practices. Cutting-edge technologies for pragmatic developers The event highlighted how Embarcadero is positioning its technologies for the future of AI development. RAD Studio stands out as the ideal platform for rapid prototyping of AI-powered applications, thanks to its cross-platform deployment capabilities (Windows, Android, macOS, iOS, Linux) and its vast ecosystem of components and libraries. C++Builder showed particular strength in artificial neural network implementations, with native performance making it ideal for computationally intensive AI applications. The demonstration of tokenization, word stream handling, and linguistic relationship mapping via vectors impressed the community for its ease of implementation. Delphi, on the other hand, proves perfect for rapid development of business applications integrating AI services, maintaining its traditional ease of use while extending its capabilities into machine learning and natural language processing. Its integration with enterprise databases and frameworks like RAD Server or the Open Source DMVCFramework creates a complete stack for enterprise-ready AI applications.
